Altar Care/Sacristy

The Altar Care/Sacristy Ministry assists in the care and upkeep of our church and sacristy. This includes but is not limited to taking care of priests vestments, washing and cleaning everything used during Mass in the church and on the altar, changing and watering flowers in the church and chapels, and set up and cleanup for funerals. For more information, contact Sheila Madden at

214-358-0429 or smcmadden@hotmail.com.

Altar Servers

Altar Servers are members of the community, age’s fifth grade and up, who assist the priests before, during, and after Mass. Altar serving is a quiet but important and dignified part of the Mass and an easy way to be involved with the service. Training is mandatory. For more information, contact Patricia Rodriquez at 214-536-6068 or stmonica.altarservers@yahoo.com.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are commissioned by the pastor to assist the priests and deacons in distributing communion during Mass, to home-bound sick and aged of the parish. For more information, contact emhc.stmonica@gmail.com.

Ushers

Ushers are people’s first impression of who and what Christ and this church body is. Ushers welcome the people as they gather for Mass, assist people in finding a place in the assembly, gather their offerings for the church, and thank them for their attendance and participation as they leave. Welcome Ministry

The Welcome Ministry actively demonstrates that St. Monica is a warm, friendly and welcoming community through volunteers greeting parishioners and visitors before and after Sunday Masses. The ministry is open to individuals, couples and families with children of all ages. This is a particularly rewarding and easy ministry for families to do together. On a given Sunday, you commit to greeting visitors and fellow parishioners either from 9 to 9:30 am (after 8 am Mass), from 10:30 to 11 am (after 9:30 am Mass) or from 12 to 12:30 pm (after 11am Mass). A schedule of volunteers will be made so you know when and where to be. Distinctive badges will identify you. Thirty minutes on a given Sunday, being friendly! For more information contact Maria Juarez-Plank at
